In the coming months, ACOSA is planning several collaborative events and we’d like our members to be featured. Let me (Cheryl) know if you are interested in participating or know of others who would fit the bill. Email me at chair@acosa.org (don’t be shy).
- On April 15th (Tax Day), the Workgroup to Address Extreme Economic Inequality (one of the grand challenges), is facilitating a webinar on Utilizing the Child Tax Credit. This is an underused benefit for low-income families. If you (or someone you know) have experience organizing programs and services that help eligible families gain access to this tax credit, please let us know.
- In June, with the “Voting is Social Work” campaign, there will be an event focusing on voting rights activism. We’d like to members who are actively involved in initiatives that counter voter suppression efforts, support voter registration, or mobilize on other voting actions to participate. We need to be non-partisan and we need to get out the vote.
- In honor of Labor Day, we would like to hold a panel with ACOSA members working to support labor activism and workers’ rights. We are especially interested in folks who are organizing human service staff.
